It’s your turn now to find your own argumentative topic. You may still revise your topic as you continue your research and writing process. However, now is a good time to try to make a decision about what issue you will explore and, if possible, what angle you might take. Of course, keep in mind that, depending upon the type of essay you are writing, those things might change as well.
Still, take some time now to explore your readings and use some prewriting strategies to see where your topic takes you. What do you hope to write about? What goals do you have? What purpose do you hope your essay will take?
Make your notes and / or write in a writing journal about what you hope to do. Then, share your ideas with your professor and classmates for feedback.
