Meet the Excelsior OWL Team

	Nan Rodriguez, Director of the Excelsior Writing Center and Online Writing Lab Since joining Excelsior, Nan has added many pages to the OWL, including pages in Writing in the Disciplines, Research, Grammar Essentials, and other areas. She has also created completely new sections, such as the Writing at the Graduate Level and Writing for Your Career pages. She has also updated some of the images, names, and content areas to reflect a more diverse audience.
	Jeff Hart, Online Learning Website Coordinator With more than a decade of experience in publishing, Jeff brings his keen eye for detail and lifelong love of learning to his role as website coordinator. He makes sure that the OWL experience flows smoothly and works with both team members and users to develop improvements for the site.
	Lori Aldrich, Content and Design Consultant to the OWL Lori is a dedicated and detail-oriented team member who provides essential content, instructional design, and multimedia content development skills. She also ensures content consistency and tracks project development.
	Mark Oppenneer, Director of Web Systems Mark is the former Director of the Excelsior OWL. He is an open source innovator with a passion for creating enterprise web resources. He is the technical architect and lead developer of the Excelsior OWL platform.

Darren Walsh, past AVP – Center for Online Education, Learning & Academic Services
Darren was our fiercest champion, tirelessly making behind the scenes magic happen (grants, awards, staffing, opportunities, etc.).

Crystal Sands, past Director of the Excelsior Online Writing Lab
Crystal is the fairy godmother of the Excelsior OWL — bringing in several large grants and many national awards. She was also our resident subject matter expert.

Francesco Crocco, past Director of the Excelsior Online Writing Lab
Frank led the Excelsior OWL team into unchartered territories with the development of the Online Reading Comprehension Lab. He also designed a robust Writing in the Disciplines training for faculty across the globe.

David Seelow, founding Director of the Excelsior Online Writing Lab
David was the creative genius behind the Excelsior OWL and several other projects at Excelsior, including the former Center for Gaming & Simulation. He spearheaded the development of the ESL WOW resources before the official Excelsior OWL took flight.

Will Trevor, former Faculty Program Director for Undergraduate Business Programs
Will assisted with the $300K Kresge Foundation grant and helped research models of sustainability and a future strategy for the promotion and development of the OWL.

Michelle Abeyta, past Learning Services Coordinator and Lead Instructional Designer
Michelle was with the Excelsior OWL from its inception through 2019. She was the Learning Services Coordinator and Lead Instructional Designer for the Excelsior OWL in addition to being the coordinator for the Excelsior OWL national outreach campaign. While she was a part of the team, she created video assets, interactive activities, and content for the OWL.

Erin Blauvelt, past Senior Multimedia Instructional Designer
Erin created multimedia learning resources for the Excelsior OWL, wrangled content and ensured that we adhered to accessibility guidelines. She is an Associate Faculty member at Excelsior University.

Marina Suarez, past Concept Artist and Visual Designer
Marina is an accomplished artist who helped give the Excelsior OWL new wings. She freshened up the original Excelsior OWL designs and created assets for instructional animations.

Claire Bradin Siskin, former Project Director for ESL WOW
Claire provided expertise and leadership as Project Director for the development of the innovative ESL WOW resources, which went on to win a NUTN award and become part of the Excelsior OWL. Her efforts helped disseminate the ESL WOW to a broad range of national and international users.
