Tutor: Now we have come to the last major step, Editing and Polishing.
Student: Well, isn’t editing the same as revising?
Tutor: No, not really. Revision has to do with whether or not your paper is readable. Editing is about proofreading. In this step, you check the spelling, punctuation, grammar, and other mechanical problems.
Student: I see. When you revise, you might change what you say. When you edit, you change how it looks.
Tutor: Right!
Student: This makes sense because polishing is about making it look good.
Tutor: Yes, that’s it.
