Email | MLA Works Cited

Author. Title. Title of container, other contributors, version, number, publisher, publication date, location. When documenting an email message on your MLA Works Cited page, the email itself is the only container you need. (You do not, for instance, need to provide the email client used to access the message.) The author is the person writing the email, and the title is a description of where the email was sent. If you’re referencing an email sent directly to you, use the phrase ‘Email to the author.’ as the title. Other than that, only the date is necessary to complete your container.
